Ros Shiers

Ros has been working as an illustrator for four years now since graduating from The University of Brighton. Her images are subtle soft and elegant but striking at the a same time with the intricate detail within the drawing. the images are very feminine this i perhaps why they appeal to me and wouldn't appeal to a male audience.he also has an identical twin sister with whom she set up Shiers Sisters clothing label in 2002 where she was creating print designs and brand identity. Most recently they designed a collection for Topshop Boutique.

Advertising Now. Print

This is one of the books that I am currently visually reading. It is just a book of clever adverts that stop am make you think. Some are literally obvious and don't work as well as others but some are very comically such as this 'really really bad breath' advert for Stimoral chewing gum. Horrible to look at but you get the point.

Visual language

These photographs reminded me of similar work that i am investigating at the moment with myty visual language studies the idea of symmetrical status and opposites or rural and urban.

Design Report Projekt triangle

The design report front cover shows detail of a mapped out area all in the same colour with straight lines makes this design work as an intresting aesthetical work that informs people. This would work as an idea for my own project I am going to try and create a map that obbsessive cleaning people can use and follow clearly. This is inspiring and i am going to test areas of this.

Hellovan

I found this artist through Mario Hugo an illustrator that I found through Graphik magazine. The work of Hellovan related to my visual language studies with the formation of figure against objects although my work is inspired through human formation and nature the idea of blending the two work well with the elegance of the watercolours and the pencil in a desaturated colour format encouraging the audience to concentrate on the detail of the two images blending together.
